Information

Zhiyan Liu is a photographer whose practice centres on people, light and everyday life. Working across documentary projects and visual studies, she attends to familiar gestures, personal spaces and details that can pass unnoticed.

Her ongoing projects explore the connections between daily routines, personal relationships and a sense of belonging. Through portraits and observations of familiar spaces, she considers how work, care and the passage of time shape everyday life.

Alongside these projects, her studies of light, shadow and sunsets trace fleeting changes in ordinary surroundings. Across her work, photography is a way of paying sustained attention to people, to the spaces they inhabit, and to the time shared with them.
